Joe Gosinski Chicane Motorsports R.I.P.

For those of you in Southern California that deal in late model Mustangs mod shops many of you
probably have met or heard of Joe Gosinski owner of Chicane Motorsports in Torrance.  I
met Joe a few times and what impressed me about Joe was his passion and I mean passion
for American Muscle....Mustangs.  Joe was very good at his craft and it showed.  His shop
was cleaner than most hospitals and he was always working on something new that would
improve the performance of your Mustang.

The first time I met Joe was in 2008 at the Fabulous Fords Forever Show in Southern California
the next time we chatted was at a Mustang show and cruise that Joe organized , me and two of my Mustang buddies drove up from San Diego to his shop (Chicane Motorsports) in Torrance, CA.
We arrived early that morning before the vast majority of Mustang owners had returned from the
cruise, before we knew the street was filled with Mustangs and they kept coming.  From the old
school classic '65 Mustangs up to the current Super Snake filled the street on in front of Chicane
Motorsports.  If you were a Mustang lover you had a smile on your face that day Mustang owners
from SoCal showed up in large numbers for Joe's event.  It's safe to say there were probably a few
hundred Mustangs in attendance that day.  I attend several car shows a year and that was one of
the best I had attended; a reflection of Joe and his attention to detail.

I received a phone call today that Joe had been found murdered in his shop in Torrance,  I thought
this must be a rumor gone bad but it wasn't.  I thought maybe I was dreaming but I wasn't.  I thought
it was an early April Fools joke but it wasn't.  I thought Joe must be in the hospital recovering but
he wasn't.

Another talented person has left us too soon.  We will not get a chance to hear that sax solo again.
We will not get to see that great open field tackle again.  We will not get a chance to hear the next
album they were producing.

Joe Gosinski's life has been taken for reasons that are foreign to me. There are many foreign places
that I want to visit but this is not one of them.

The Mustang world, friends and family have lost a good one but I'm sure the chariots in heaven
just found a great tech.

Joe Gosinski our prayers are with you, your friends and family.

Do you have a story about Joe Gosinski please share it with us?

Jimmy the Crackhead

For the 2005-2009 Mustang owner that's be been searching to find some new Mustang accessories and parts, we understand your frustration and we've felt your pain.....OUCH!

When the S197 Mustang was released in 2005 a flood gate of Mustang accessories opened and the race was on to outfit your Mustang GT or V6 with all the latest toys.  Window louvers, side scoops, rear spoilers, window scoops, taillight panels, plenum covers and the list continued, but the new designs stopped.

Looking through the publications of Mustang magazines and attending several Mustang car shows a year you'll be hard pressed to find new Mustang accessories and parts.  Hanging out at a Mustang show in search of fresh Mustang accessories is like watching a Arnold Schwarzenegger action movie, you already know what's going to happen, but maybe you'll be entertained.

Some manufactures have got complacent and Mustang owners are bored out of their minds.  Let's
be honest, your die hard car enthusiast is like a Crackhead looking to score their next hit.  The old
smack is not doing it anymore.  Jimmy the Crackhead is looking to score with some stuff that will
keep him on cloud nine for a month.  Jimmy the Crackhead will surf the net until 3am looking to
score that new Mustang accessory that he has to have for his car show on Saturday.  Jimmy the
Crackhead  has no idea what's he's looking for, but he'll know it when he sees it.  Twenty-five pages
into Google Jimmy the Crackhead finds his next hit of Mustang accessory.....a chrome strut tower
brace.  Jimmy hits the "Buy Now" button and places his order, now the shipping option appears,
Ground, 3-4 days or Overnight,  Jimmy selects Overnight. The flash chrome strut tower brace is
$199 and Overnight shipping from Maine to California is $250 for a grand total of $449.  Jimmy
doesn't care he needs his fix.  Two days later this chrome strut tower brace arrives via brown truck just
as the sun is setting.  Jimmy rips open the box and lays his bloodshot eyes on his new drug.
The strut tower  brace comes just in time as Jimmy's withdrawal symptons were starting to show.
Jimmy grabs his extension cord, work light and socket set and within fifteen minutes his strut is
installed on his Mustang and Jimmy has scored again.

As a manufacture of Mustang accessories and parts it's up to us to create new products for the Ford
Mustang that keep Mustang owners excited.  We must be creative and not complacent.

Bangastang has several cool accessories for the 2005-2009 Ford Mustang that are very different.
Our Mustang GT Plenum Cover, Whaletail spoiler, Roundtail spoiler, Mustang Front Splitter,
MGP Caliper Covers and our top seller Mustang Radiator Covers are Mustang accessories that will grab your attention because they're new and innovative.....just what the Mustang owner needs.

Do you have a story about yourself when you acted like Jimmy the Crackhead post and tell
us about it?

Mustang Parts Christmas Shopping

It's now eleven days before Christmas and many of you are still trying to figure out what to buy for the
Mustang owner in your life.  Maybe it's that Mustang carbon fiber armrest or the Mustang Window
Louvers that they keep lusting over on their neighbors Shelby GT500 or better yet our Bangastang Shelby GT500 Radiator Cover .........now hold your horses and and we do mean horsepower!

This is the time of year when last minute custom orders get a little haywire.  "Oh please I need it for
my husband before Christmas, can't you speed up the order, he's been talking about this since May".
As much as we would like to make custom parts in two days it's pretty difficult especially when
your talking about a Mustang accessory that needs to be painted and painting takes time, even more
time when large quantities are involved.  Some folks have a misconception when it comes to auto body
accessory painting, they assume if it's just one part it will be finished in 2-3 days.

Factor in the array of colors that were available for the Ford Mustangs from 2005-2011; we're talking close to 30 paint codes. Some of the colors available were Legend Lime, Grabber Orange,  Tungsten Grey, Windveil Blue, Torch Red, Mineral Grey, Alloy, Redfire , Grabber Blue, Performance White and the list continues.  When car accessories are painted they are painted in groups of the same color for
convenience and cost.  A painter would much rather have three of a kind instead of a full house.
Paint guns can only store one mixture of paint at a time, they're not like your ball point pen that you
had in grade school which had four different colors of ink.....blue, black, red and green.

The paint process when do correctly takes time and involves three stages; prep, paint and finish.  All of the stages takes time and can't be rushed,  even during the Christmas shopping season.  There are countless auto body shops with various levels of quality.  When shopping for an auto body shop do not
based it on price but the quality of work and the materials that they use.  Too many times people will
hire the least expensive company to do the job, what's the old saying "You get what you pay for".  If
you paid someone $50.00 to paint your Mustang spoiler then you got a $50.00 paint job and more than likely you will have to pay a second time to have it done right.

So for all you late shoppers that are ordering painted Mustang products for your loved ones eleven days before Christmas, there is a good chance the elves will not have it finished in time to load on Santas' sled.

Ho Ho Ho.......MERRY CHRISTMAS from BANGASTANG!

Shelby GT Front Splitter

Give your Shelby GT the look of a Champion. With the new front splitter from Bangastang you can add style and functionality to the front end of your Shelby GT. This splitter is fully adjustable, and able to increase the downforce on the front of your Mustang. Downforce is particularly helpful in track racing where keeping pressure on all four wheels increases the stability and manueverability of your car at high speeds. You just simply will not find the functionality like this on most of our competitors cosmetic splitters.

Here at Bangastang we know the look of Carbon Fiber is hot on the market, but beware of cheap imitations. When buying Carbon Fiber pieces make sure that you are getting the REAL thing. The splitter is constructed of light weight carbon fiber and composites to keep the piece lightweight and extremely sturdy. There is no sacrificing strength for weight here, as these materials provide a serious durability and flexibility that plastics just can't compare to. This piece fits all Shelby GT's and Mustang California Specials, it will not fit any V6 Mustangs, or regular GT's unless fitted with the California Special Front Fascia."

carbon fiber Shelby GT500 Radiator Cover

One of the things that we strive to avoid is complacency when it comes to developing new products for
the late model Ford Mustangs.  Watching paint dry is not one of my favorite things to do and seeing the
same old stuff on Mustang at car shows is an extreme case of complacency.

Bangastang makes it a priority to listen to our customers and take suggestions.  After receiving several
requests we decided to release our GT500 Radiator Cover in carbon fiber.  Shelby GT500 owners now
have another option.  It doesn't matter if you have a KR, Super Snake, 40th Anniversary or a stock GT500 we've got some new toys for you.  Our  carbon fiber Radiator Cover is made from 2X2 twill
carbon fiber with a marine grade UV protected gel coat and it's made in the US.

Leach in Your Motor Oil

How many of you in the automobile accessory business has heard the phrases "dude I'll help promote your stuff, I'll post on the forums,  I do all the cars shows, once they see it on my car everyone will buy it,  I can sell a ton of these".  These are usually of bunch of lies, what they're really saying to you is "dude give me some free stuff, I'm too cheap to buy and everyone ignores me at car shows because I'm a know it all".   I'm sure everyone in the business of selling accessories for cars has encountered more than their share of beggars looking to score some new free products.  All I can say to you is don't walk, RUN it's one of the oldest tricks in the book and chances are good you are about to get taken for a ride.

The auto accessory business has it's share of leaches that hunt for sponsorships, press converage, prototype products, free wheels, stereos systems, discounts, custom paint jobs with promises of getting you exposure at the local car show.  I've heard more than my share of stories from other aftermarket auto accessory shops who gave away products with promises of getting their product in the latest muscle car magazine.  When the article didn't apppear excuses varied, the photo shoot never took place, they overslept and missed the car show, and the paint didn't get finished.  Be careful of the leaches.

Don't allow anyone to represent your company unless they are a paid employee,  don't give them any merchandise unless they sign a agreement  stating they must make appearances at a certain number of scheduled car shows and above all make sure the person has a solid reputation and good character.  Wolves come in all shapes and sizes and many times they disguise themselves as sheep and they bounce from shop to shop looking for free goods.  RETAILER BEWARE!!!

Along with the leaches, they're are many good people that outweigh the bad,  they may drive a beater
that needs a major overhaul or a Shelby GT convertible.  We recently received an email from a
gentleman named Paul Smith,  Mr. Smith was browsing our website and noticed a glitch on one of our
products.  While trying to purchase one of our products Paul noticed that the checkout  price came up  $00.00........can you say "FREE STUFF".  Paul was nice enough to not press the "buy now" but
instead wrote Bangastang a nice email informing us of our technical error.  Paul's act showed us
that character and integrity is still alive and kicking.  Thanks Paul, we're sending you a little
something for your Shelby GT.

Fabulous Fords Forever

For those of you that are old enough to remember the Ed Sullivan show, one of Ed's favorite phrase was "tonight we have a really big show".  Anyone that attended the Fabulous Ford Forever show knows it's a really big show that is filled with Fords from all the years.  Knotts as we Ford enthusiast call it is always a special day and most of us prepare for weeks and sometimes months in advance.

This year the weather was perfect with sunny skies and bearable temperatures.  Last year it was hot enough to melt most people and many folks have not been seen since attending Knotts last year....wonder what happened to them?

This year I was happy to see Steve Saleen and his new 2010 Saleen Mustang....it's a hot car and I hope
he sells a bunch of them.  I've always been a big fan of the Saleen Mustang and their styling.

The S197 Mustangs were in full effect and the 2007-2009 Shelby GT500 actually filled up their section this year.  There was a lot of venom in the Shelby section and many of the GT500 owners were sporting Bangastang gear.  Our hot selling GT500 Radiator Cover was quite visible on GT500s and Super Snakes and our newly released carbon fiber was revealed to the public for the first time.

Now like most people a day of walking around the Knotts show has your feet aching but it doesn't
matter because you seen some of the coolest Fords on the planet.  The bottow line is you will be
back next year and the year after that because it's Knotts and it's a really big show.

Fabulous Fords Forever aka Knotts

Listen my children and you will hear the late night sounds of a gearhead.  Every year this time members of the Ford family stay up late plotting their grand entrance to the greatest Ford show in Southern California....."Fabulous Ford Forever"  better known as Knotts.  For than 2,000 owners of Ford made vehicles will converge on Knotts Berry Farm for a day filled with  detail spray, redline tires, C-4 transmissions, Toploaders,  Philco radios, Goodyear Polyglass tires and enough wax to slid from San Diego to Hong Kong.

Knotts is like the Super Bowl to any Ford owner that loves a good car show.  Every vehicle ever made
by Ford will be on hand at Knotts from the Model A to the Ford Fusion.  You will be able to see up close and personal some of the baddest Fords in one spot.  Bring your walking shoes and camera with spare batteries with a good size flash card, trust me you will take many pictures.

For those that will participate in Knotts here's a tip, if you haven't ordered that part yet forget it IT'S TOO LATE.  Take it from someone that has been there and done it.  Trying to find that one off accessory for your Mustang a week before the show and ordering it three days before Knotts and expecting to get it in time for Knotts WILL NOT HAPPEN.  Look Gearheads,  haven't you heard of Murphy's Law  whatever can happen will.  Everybody and their mother will order the same stuff for their  2004 Terminator and that billet piece will be out of stock in two days.  So if you waited the last minute again to buy those custom made billet wheels they will probably arrive a day after Knotts.

Here's my suggestion, if you don't have all your parts by now, don't email the retailer ever day asking them "what's the status of my order?" I can tell you they are too busy trying to answer phone calls and
emails and shipping out a $5.00 part via priority shipping that cost $35.00 to ship because you have a car show on Saturday.  Planning is the key not procrastination.   Remember your lack of planning does not constitute and emergency for someone else.  Telling a retailer that you have a car show on Sunday
is like telling the Mother Superior in catholic school that your dog ate your homework.  Good try but.

For those of you looking for some smoking deals on Mustang and  Fairlane parts at the last minute
the folks at California Mustang in the City of Industry California is having a BIG sale the day before
the Knotts show.  Bring your pick-up, SUV, skateboard and load up with some gear for your whip.
They will be more than happy to sell you some gear for your Ford just in time for the Fabulous Fords
Forever show,  so you can stay up until 3am putting that starter on your '64 Falcon then turn around
and get up at 6am just in time make it to Knotts the next morning.

See you at Knotts and please bring some brownies I'll bring the strawberries.

Shelby GT500 KR Radiator Cover

There are some cars that come with all the trimmings like the Shelby GT500 KR know to some as the King of the Road.  When the Shelby GT500 came back on the scene in 2007,  Mustang enthusiasts from all ages rushed down down to their local Ford dealer and placed their orders.  Many of them waited several months and sometimes over a year to take delivery of their GT500.  A close friend of mine waited 18 months to get his GT500,  I'll tell his story later.  Shelby decided to make a few models
GT500, GT, 40th Anniversary, Hertz, Super Snake and the KR.   All of the Shelbys have some
distinct features that not all of them carry but the KR is a very rare Pony.

Sticker price or should I say dealer price on a KR was over $100,000.  The first KR that I saw on the dealer floor was listed at $182,000......THIS IS NOT A TYPO.  $182,000 large.  I took some of my Mustang buddies down to the dealership so they could see for themselves,  the look on their faces was a Kodak moment when they saw the asking price,  $182,000.....large bills please.  All of us thought the dealership was crazy and smoking some serious crack but we stared at the KR wishing we had the cheddar to buy one.   Owning one of these would be better than being King for a Day in grade school, better than any dinger I hit playing high school baseball, better than my moms liver smothered with gravy and onions and even better than........well, I won't go that far but you get the point.  The KR was off the chain with it's carbon fiber accessories, color scheme and the fact that it's a KR.

Production numbers for the KR are low under 1,200 which makes it that much desirable it's like the Mustang, "Eleanor" in the film "Gone in 60 Seconds" Nicolas Cage's character just had to have that
car at all cost.

If I owned a KR I would probably be scared to drive it in fear that something would happen to it,
like some 16 year-old texting while driving slamming into my rearend.   Or a runaway shopping cart filled with cement bags rolling into my door at my local Home Depot and leaving a dent the size of
a soccer ball.  I'm sure I would eventually get over my fear, you buy a car to drive not sit in a garage and admire it.

The Shelby GT500 KR has a lot of carbon fiber trimmings....front splitter, mirror cover and rocker panels.  KR owners didn't have much to choose from in terms of aftermarket accessories until
now.   Bangastang has released our Radiator Cover for the GT500 KR, this has been a long time in
development but the KR owners needed some love to.

Shown here painted in Satin Silver with blue stripes,  our Radiator Cover for the Shelby KR
also has a cutout for the CSM plate and is designed to fit with the Ford Racing Cold Air Intake.
Bangastang also offers the KR Radiator Cover in Torch Red with Satin Silver Stripes as well as
Black with matte black stripes.

If you're going to own a King of the Road why not treat yourself like a King or Queen.  When you
show up at car show with a Bangastang Radiator Cover and pop your hood just make sure that everyone is wearing sunglasses because the brightness may blind them.

Mustang Hood Struts

Eliminating the factory hood prop on your Ford Mustang is a good way of cleaning up the engine bay
on your 2005-2009 Mustang.  For the 205-2009 Mustang owner there is a simple solution...Hood Struts. Installing a pair of Mustang Hood Struts  should take you less than 45 minutes and requires basic hand tools and no drilling is required.

Some of you may remember when most cars didn't have hood props but used springs that were used
with hinges to support the weight of the hood,  the springs were large and heavy.  Car manufacturers
in the effort to save weight got rid of the bulky spring system and replace it with a lightweight metal
prop rod which saved several pounds.

Bangastang carries Mustang Hood Struts by Cal Pony Cars,  the CPC Mustang Hood  struts attach to
existing holes on your Mustang.  The best part about the CPC Mustang Hood Struts is they're available
in several OEM 2005-2009 Mustang colors.  Torch Red, Windveil Blue, Grabber Orange, Vista Blue
Black to name a few.  A natural satin finish is also available.  Bangastang carries Mustang Hood Struts for the 2005-2009 Mustangs and Shelby GT500  Prices start at $120.00

Mustang Accessories and Parts

For the 2005-2009 Mustang owner that's be been searching to find some new Mustang accessories and parts, we understand your frustration and we've felt your pain.....OUCH!

When the S197 Mustang was released in 2005 a flood gate of Mustang accessories opened and the race was on to outfit your Mustang GT or V6 with all the latest toys.  Window louvers, side scoops, rear spoilers, window scoops, taillight panels, plenum covers and the list continued, but the flood gate
slowed and new designs became scarce.

Looking through the publications of Mustang magazines and attending several Mustang car shows a year you'll be hard pressed to find new Mustang accessories and parts.  Hanging out at a Mustang show in search of fresh Mustang accessories is like watching a Arnold Schwarzenegger action movie, you already know what's going to happen but maybe you'll be entertained.

Some manufactures have got complacent and Mustang owners are bored out of their minds.  Let's
be honest, your die hard car enthusiast is like a Crackhead looking to score their next hit.  The old

Mustang Battery and Master Cylinder Cover

The Mustang Battery and Master Cylinder Cover from CPC is the most under-rated '05-'10 Mustang accessory to hit the market.  Since 2005 when the S197 Mustang body style was released the
majority of the accessories manufactured for the retro Mustang were for the exterior or interior,
accessories for the Mustang's engine bay were few.

For the '05-'10 Mustang owner that competes in car shows, dressing up your engine is vital when it
comes to gaining points from the judges.  A engine bay that has been outfitted with dress-up
accessories and detailed will gain a great deal of attention.  Too many times the engine bay is
overlooked in the detailing process.  Oil stains, road grit, water spots and frayed wiring is
common place in the engine bays on the show car circuit.  A dirty engine is a sure way to loose
potential points when competing in car shows.

The Mustangs' engine bay has many areas that can be dressed up with some nice accessories.
Plenum covers, fuse box cover, fuel rail covers, throttle body covers, billet engine caps
and radiator covers are some of the engine dress up accessories on the market today for the
late model Ford Mustang.  Available in a wide variety of materials such as carbon fiber,
injection molded plastic, billet aluminum and fiberglass.  Painted, polished, powder
coated, anodized or chromed are some of your finish options.

There are two components in the Mustang's engine bay that need some attention....the battery
and master cylinder.  Let's face it, looking at a battery and master cylinder is about as
exciting as watching paint dry.....BORING!  The folks with CPC (Cal Pony Cars) came up
with a very innovative product, a Battery and Master Cylinder Cover.  A cover you say,  yes.
Made from  ABS injection molded plastic the Cal Pony Cars Mustang Battery and Master
Cylinder Cover attaches to your cowl and covers your battery and master cylinder for a OEM
look.  The installation process takes under 30 minutes and all you need is a Philips head
screw driver.  The CPC Mustang Battery and Master Cylinder Covers retail for $89.00.

Now for the you Mustang owners that likes to take is up another notch Bangastang will
custom paint the battery and master cylinder covers to match your Mustang.  Painting
the covers will really add some bling to your engine bay.  Many of our customers have
even added decals and badges to give their battery and maser cylinder covers a more custom
look.  Use your imagination I'm sure you can come up with something really cool our customers
sure did.

Just a side note the CPC Battery and Master Cylinder Covers were designed to work with
their hood struts, using other brands of hood struts can cause rubbing against the covers.

For the Shelby GT500 owners, Bangastang will trim the master cylinder cover to fit around
your supercharger throttle body for a $10.00 charge.

Mustang Front Splitter

Adding a Front Splitter to your 2005-2009 Mustang GT will enhance the look of your Mustang, by giving it a more a aggressive look.  A Front Splitter also is a performance upgrade because it increases
the downforce of airflow to your front fascia while reducing the turbulence under the car.

If you've ever seen a NASCAR vehicle up close you couldn't help to notice the large Front Splitter that all of them have on their cars.  Aerodynamics plays a big role in the handling of a car and and race teams will spend long hours in a windtunnel doing R&D to insure their cars are aerodynamically sound.

There are a few Mustang Front Splitters on the market for the '05-'09 Mustang GT, most of them are
made of fiberglass which makes them lightweight. Our Front Splitters from Bangastang attach around
the lower fascia and mounts using existing holes, using two screws,  there are no holes to drill or
3M tape to use.  Along the lower fascia of a '05-'09 Mustang GT is a lip with a ridge, our Mustang
Front Splitters snap on over the ridge and around the corners of the bumper.  Our Bangastang Front Splitters are designed to fit your Mustang GT securely without the hassle of drilling holes into your body,  installation takes twenty minutes.

Mustang Side Scoops

In 1964 my family traveled to New York City to visit my grandmother.  I was four-years old at the time and remember how big everything was in New York.  One of the tourists attractions that my family saw while in New York was the World's Fair in Flushing Meadows New York.  On April 17th 1964 the Ford Mustang was unveiled to the public at the World's Fair, and I was there.  My dad worked for the Ford Motor Company River Rouge plant, located just outside Detroit.  I'm sure my dad was very proud that day when the Mustang made its' debut, but had no idea that he and his co-workers would play a such a major part in the success of the Mustang.

When the Ford Mustang was released in 1964 it set the automotive world  on fire.  One of the advertising slogans that Ford used to describe the Mustang called it "The Car You Always Promised Yourself".  The slogan proved itself correct as 22,000 orders were placed for the Mustang within days of its' debut. Within the year Ford had sold over 400,000 Mustangs.

The 1964 1/2 Mustang was a combination of parts from the Ford Falcon and Fairlane but a body style of its' own.  Available with a 170 cubic inch straight six engine, 260 cubic inch V8 or the 289 cubic inch Hi-Po.  The vast majority of '64 1/2 Mustang were purchased with six cylinder engines.

In August 1964 a very young Ford executive named Lee Iococca placed a call to Carroll Shelby asking him to build a high performance Mustangs that could hold its' own on the track and street.  Shelby was reluctant but agreed to build the cars.  The Shelby GT350 was unveiled on January 27th 1965.  The sticker price for the Shelby GT350 was $4,547.00 which wasn't attractive to your average car buyer while the sticker price for the base Mustang was $2,500.00.  The Shelby GT350 wasn't a hit in terms of sales but it was a hit on the track.

The '65 Shelby GT350 has several performance upgrades including a high rise manifold, holly carburetor, 4 speed manual transmission, side exhaust pipes with two-inch Glasspak mufflers, trunk mounted battery, fiberglass hood with functional scoop, deleted rear seat for weight savings and 15 inch wheels.  One of the exterior modifications were Side Brake Scoops which were functional and included air ducts to cool the rear brakes.  Side Brake Scoops on a domestic car was very new territory.  The first side scoops that came on the GT350 were made from fiberglass. Not all the the '65 GT350 were fitted with Side Brake Scoops.

Having the capacity to cool the brakes on a race car was very important to insure brake reliability and the Mustang Side Scoops were a vital part in the performance of the GT350.

Functional Brake Side Scoops have become a thing of the past on the Ford Mustang and have been replaced by the Mustang Side Scoops that are cosmetic. When the 2005 Mustang was released, aftermarket Mustang accessories flooded the market, everything from spoilers, hood scoops, mirror covers, window louvers, window scoops and Mustang side scoops were quickly added to the Mustangs to bring about the old school retro look.

There are several brands of Mustang Side Scoops on the market today for the '05-'10 Mustang some of the brands are Xenon, Willpack,  Ford, 3D Carbon, Street Scene and Cervini.  Most of the Mustang Side Scoops manufactured today are made from urethane, injection molded plastic and some are made from fiberglass.  Selecting a Mustang Side Scoop for your Stang may take a while because of the wide selection and your budget.  Not all Mustang Side Scoops are created equal.

Installation  is pretty simple provided you follow the directions and take your time.  The most important factor when installing Mustang Side Scoops is temperature.  The vast majority of Mustang Side Scoops on the market are installed using 3M double-sided tape.  The outdoor temperature needs to be at least 65 degrees for the 3M tape to bond.  If your Mustang is sitting in the garage and it's the middle of winter it's  probably not a good idea to install side scoops using 3M tape, there is a good chance the tape will not bond, which could cause your side scoops to fall off while driving...not a good thing.   Now let's assume it's a  80 degree day and you're ready to put your scoops on, your first step is to clean the surface where your side scoops will be attached.  Using soap and water clean the area of all dirt and grime and let dry.  As added insurance use some household rubbing alcohol and wipe the surface to remove any wax residue. Here's a tip before installing any accessory using 3M double-sided tape, visit your local auto paint supply store and pick up a bottle or Promoter.  Promoter is a clear liquid that acts like a super glue to help the adhesion process of the 3M tape.  We highly recommend using Promoter when applying accessories that attaches with 3M tape.  Okay now, it's time to lay that side scoop on your rear quarter panel but first do a test fit to make sure you line up the scoop properly it might be a good idea use a grease pencil and mark the lines where the scoops needs to go.  Remove the backing on the 3M tape and apply a light coat of promoter to the 3M tape surface, be careful not to spill any promoter on your car it will stain your paint.  Push the scoops
onto your quarter panel making sure the 3M tape makes contact with all the edges.  Do not drive your Mustang for several hours, you need to allow the 3M tape to bond to the surface of your Mustang.  As much as you would like to show off your newly installed side scoops to your Mustang buddy across town don't,  give your scoops sometime to dry, you'll be glad you did.

Shelby GT500 Radiator Cover

As a Mustang accessory retail shop we’re always looking for a new products that Ford Mustang owners can appreciate. Bangastang.com is a internet based company that focuses on dress-up accessories for the late model Ford Mustangs.

As a participate and spectator of many car shows one of the areas that many time is overlooked is the engine compartment. I’m sure you been to many car shows and witnessed a car win first place just because of a fancy paint job but the hood was never opened, a shame but true. The car show scene varies from state to state. On the east cost if your hood is not open your car will not even be considered for voting. The judges will pass you by without taking a second look at your car no matter how sharp the paint job. In California the standards are not very high, dirty engines, oil stains, water spots, dirty air filters and closed hoods are very common. Attention to detail is lacking. When you get down to it your engine can be the focus of your Hotrod. Your engine bay has countless components hoses, clamps, air filters, pumps, valve covers, fuse boxes and a assortment of other parts. There is no need to overlook the potential that your engine has when it comes to dressing it up.  A nicely detailed engine will make people stop and stare.

For the late model Ford Mustangs one product that was missing for the Mustang GT and Shelby GT 500 was a engine dress-up accessory that would bring some color and highlight the engine bay and also hide some unsightly wires. In August of 2009 Bangastang.com released our one piece Radiator Cover for the Shelby GT500. GT500 owners did not have a engine dress up product that truly added some pop to their 5.4 supercharged engine. Our GT500 Radiator Cover is made from high temp fiberglass resin, mounts in existing holes and comes painted to match your Shelby GT500 and we even include painted stripes. We supply satin billet hardware to attach our Radiator Cover. The stripes are painted on and are the same dimensions as the stock stripes on the ‘07-’09 GT500. Now unlike some fiberglass on the market our Radiator Covers are not patched, poorly cut or wavy. Our fiberglass builder worked in the aviation industry for many years building FAA approved parts for several aircrafts. Tight tolerances and precision measurements go into all of our fiberglass products including our GT500 Radiator Covers. All of our products are professionally painted which includes clear coating, wet sanding and hand buffing.  Also you can’t feel the edge of the stripe on our GT500 Radiator Covers.

For you ‘07-’09 Shelby GT500 owner that really wants something special for their Shelby that will make people talk at the car show check out our selection of Radiator Covers. We also offer a Radiator Cover for the 2005-2009 Mustang GT as well.

All of our Radiator Covers are custom made upon order, we don’t want to be a fast food chain we like to take our time and get it right, it is a custom made part. Turnaround time is 3-6 weeks however turnaround time can vary depending on demand. We understand you need it this weekend for a car show but we pride ourselves on doing a good job.

MGP Caliper Covers

Two years ago while attending a Car Cruise Night in Chula Vista California I saw a 2007 Mustang GT with what I thought was a set of big brakes behind the factory 18X9 Bullitt wheels.  After stopping the
owner of the car and asking him what kind of brakes he had the owner explained to me that his Mustang had Caliper Covers not big brakes.  My first thought was....what Caliper Covers!  I had never seen anything like this, a cover for the brake caliper.  The owner of the Mustang explained to me that his neighbor had been working on the product for a few years.  Well curiosity got the best of me and I gave the owner my business card to pass on to his neighbor.  That evening while sitting at home I wondered what an innovative car accessory.

Two days later I received a phone call from Mike Barland  President of MGP Caliper Covers who invited me down to his manufacturing facility outside of San Diego California.  My first impression of Mike Barland was a man that thinks outside of the box.  Barland has an extensive background in manufacturing that dates back two generations in his family.  Barland has manufactured everything from golf clubs to aerospace parts.  After talking with Barland for a few hours I agreed to have a set of MGP Caliper Covers installed on my 2006 Mustang GT.  Now I will admit I was a little apprehensive about having a such a new product installed on my Mustang but Barland  told me he had been working on the product for a few years and there was no need to worry.

After rolling out a floor jack, a lug wrench and a feeler gauge the Caliper Covers were on my Mustang
in less than an hour.  I've installed many aftermarket parts on numerous cars  but I don't think I've
ever seen such an easy installation.  The MGP Caliper Covers attach with a metal clips and some screws.  You would wonder how can you attach a cover to a brake caliper, MGP does wihout using special glue or any drilling.

Next was the road test, which took a few minutes at various speeds.  No noise, no rubbing and no drama.  The covers were on with no hiccups.

What impressed me the most about the MGP Caliper Covers were the way they made my wheels pop
with color.  The Caliper Covers are made from 6061 T-6 aluminum are  powder coated and
available in three finishes red, black and satin.  For the car enthusiast that really wants some bling
MGP will even custom paint or engrave the Caliper Covers to your desire.

Now here's the question for the car enthusiast....why buy a set of MGP Caliper Covers?  Here's the
answer.....it's a dress up accessory.  Just like a set of window louvers, a hood scoops or rear spoiler
Caliper Covers are just another way to dress up your car.  Let face it brake calipers are not the most
appealing part of car especially after suffering from winter salt and other elements.  Some people
chose to paint their brake calipers.  From personal  experience painting your brake calipers takes several hours for prepping and painting, the durability of brake caliper paint is very short lived.

MGP Caliper Covers first designed Caliper Covers for the 2005-2009 Ford Mustang but their
product line now includes Corvette, Nissan 350Z, BMW, Saturn Sky, Chrysler 300, Magnum,
Charger, Challenger, GMC SUVs and many other vehicles.

MGP has also secured licensing from Ford Motor Company as well as GM.  So you Mustang
owners that would like the Mustang logo on your Caliper Covers MGP can provide that for you.

It's been two year since the MGP Caliper Covers were installed on my Mustang and they have been trouble free.

Mustang Window Louvers

There are many ways to customize your 2005-2010 Mustang and the list is long for accessories.  Many Mustang enthusiast start with the exterior of  their Pony because installing many of the accessories is quite simple and affordable.   Installing a set of Window Louvers on your S197 brings back the retro look of the 60's Mustangs and can take less than an hour to install.

Window Louvers attach to your rear quarter glass on your Mustang and in most cases have slotted fins which allow you to see out of your side rear window.  Many Mustang owners prefer window louvers over window scoops because they allow you to see through your side rear window.

Having spoken to several Mustang owners with small kids that ride in the back  of their Mustang they will tell you that small kids like louvers better because they can they can see all the sites while cruising in the family Mustang.

The vast majority of Mustang Window Louvers on the market attach with adhesive tape.  Some people may be skeptical about using adhesive tape to attach a automotive accessory but 3M which makes many of the double sided tapes for the automotive industry makes a great product.  The key to securing a good bond with the 3m tape is cleaning the surface properly.  Before installing the Window Louvers it is imperative that you clean the surface area where you're going to mount the louvers from all dirt, oil or wax.   Soap, water and a alcohol prep wipe will usually do the trick.   Clean the area with some soapy water, rinse and let dry.  Follow up with the alcohol prep wipe or a cotton ball and some alcohol out of your medicine cabinet will do the job.

Another product that will make for a secure installation is called promoter, not a record promoter but a chemical promoter.  Promoter when applied to 3M double sided tape acts like a super glue.  Let me warn you about promoter it's very strong and you don't want spill it on your paint.  You can pick up a small bottle of promoter at your local auto body paint supply store and the bottle comes with a brush applicator.   Here's another point make sure that you install your Mustang Window Louvers in no less than 60 degree temperature.  3M tape does not like cold temperature and a cold surface will not bond well.

After you've cleaned up the area where you want to attach your louvers do a test fit and place your louvers on your side windows to see that  everything lines up.  Remove the protective film from the 3M tape apply the promoter and place your louvers in the desired area.  Make sure you apply even pressure to the edges where the 3M tape is.   It's a good idea to not drive your Mustang for several hours while the 3M tape cures,  you don't want your louvers flying off your Mustang on the freeway.

Carbon Fiber Mustang GT Front Splitter

2007 was a few years ago and '05-'09 Mustang GT owners have been wanting something new for their Stangs.  So your question is what does the year 2007 have to do with the '05-'09 Mustang GT, it's the year the Shelby GT500 was released.  When the Shelby GT500 was released Mustang GT owners were green with envy and many of them traded in their GTs to become a member of the Shelby fold.  Many GT owners even went as far as cloning their cars to look like a GT500.  Close but no cigar.

The Front Splitter of the GT500 became a desire for many Mustang GT owners.  But a GT500 Front Splitter does not fit a Mustang GT without some major modifications.  Finally Mustang GT owners
can celebrate because there is a Front Splitter for their GT that fits like a glove and is made from carbon fiber.  TRUFIBER and Bangastang.com is proud to bring the carbon fiber Mustang GT Front Splitter to our product line-up and at special introductory price of $379.00.  This Front Splitter is made from top quality carbon fiber and attaches using  existing holes, no holes to drill.  If you're looking to add some new attitude to your 2005-2009 Mustang GT then check out the carbon fiber Front Splitter.  To see our new product click  Carbon Fiber Mustang GT Front Splitter

Project 321 Mustang Billet Caps

Having seen a great deal of products for the  '05-'10 Ford  Mustangs some of the current accessories  are just variations of other products or poor imitations of good ones.  One of the companies that comes out way in front of the competition is a company called Project 321.  I first got the opportunity to see some of their products two years ago while attending SEMA and what I saw made me realize that there are some folks that still take design and pride to another level while others sit on their thumbs just waiting for another ad to hit 5.0 and show some sub par product that designed over a case of beer.

Project 321 is one of those companies that doesn't sit around drinking beer while designing products
but probably smokes a fine Cuban cigar after they create one of their masterpieces.  Project 321 has
designed  some very top quality billet engine pieces for the '05 and current Ford Mustang and Shelby.
Project 321 has taken a very simple part like an engine oil cap and made it fine art.  While the vast majority of billet engine caps on the market are simple covers that fit over the OEM caps Project
321 has taken the extra step to design a actual engine cap that replaces the OEM cap....finally something different and unique that sets a new standard.  It's not just the fact that they designed an
actual replacement cap but the design and finish is exceptional, instead of your typical polished or
chrome finish Project 321 went with a anodized finish that is then CNC cut.  Several anodized colors are available to match the different colors of the Ford Mustangs including red, black, blue among others.  The detail on these caps resemble something that you may see in a NASA space shuttle or
more so a Bentley.

Bangastang.com appreciates builders and designers like the staff at Project 321 and welcome the
opportunity to carry such a product that shows what creativity is about.

New product for Mustangs

As a longtime Ford Mustang enthusiast and an owner of a 2006 Mustang GT I've been a little frustrated with the shortage of new Mustang accessories. I attend countless cars show and needless to say I see the same Mustang parts everywhere. The same rear ducktail spoilers, front chin spoilers, mustang window louvers, boring plenum cover, side scoops and bullit style wheels. After five years you would think that someone would come up with something new for the S197 Mustangs. Finally I've come across a company that makes some new Mustang accessories....Bangastang.com. I've been hearing about Bangastang on Mustang forums and most recently in some of the Mustang magazines like 5.0 Mustang and Shelby. I've been most impressed with the different products that they make for the 2005-2009 Mustang GT. Mustang Accessories like front splitters, whaletail spoilers, a spoiler called a Roundtail that has carbon fiber, a radiator cover for both the Shelby GT500 and the Mustang GT/V6. Now I heard about a new plenum cover for the Mustang GT that I've never seen before and I can tell you it's a breath of fresh air from the old stuff that has been around for five years. The plenum cover from Bangastang is pretty nice and comes painted to match with the GT letters. Here's a photo of their plenum cover. Here's a link to the Bangastang website
